FOR MYSELF

The decision to attend an alcohol and drug treatment program may feel overwhelming. After all, it often takes years for substance misuse to build up to the peak that prompted your decision, and it will take time and effort to unpack the physiological, psychological and social drives behind your misuse. The good news is, with proper treatment, recovery is possible for everybody – and if you are strong enough to take this huge step in seeking out a treatment program, then you have the strength it takes to achieve success.

As you research which rehabilitation center is right for you, don’t hesitate to write down even your most seemingly minor questions. For example, you may deem a question like “What is the food like?” silly in the grand scheme of things, but this center will be your home for awhile and factors like that do impact the quality of your stay. Create a list of items that are important to you, and don’t hesitate to reach out and contact us if you can’t find the answer to your questions on this website. We would recommend considering the following:

  • How skilled is the team at the rehabilitation center, and how readily available are they? Does the staff include licensed counselors, a highly trained supporting team and on-call psychiatrists and medical professionals? What is the ratio of staff members to clients?
  • What treatment modalities are used, and are these treatments supported by research and backed by success? Do you agree with the philosophy behind these modalities?
  • Is the center’s programming based on compassion and understanding?
  • Are there a variety of programs to choose from, and is there an opportunity to create a plan that is tailored to your own unique needs?
  • Are there state-of-the-art facilities, recreational areas and group activities?
  • Are there opportunities for family programming so your loved ones can learn how to support your success?
  • Are payment options flexible?

Browse through our programs to get an idea of what you can anticipate at ARAD, or read our What to Expect page for a deeper look at what the process will look like for you.

Please note that we are not a detox facility, so clients must have already undergone the detoxification process before beginning their treatment at ARAD. If you’re looking for a detox program, we can provide you with a list of resources that meet your needs.

You are to be applauded for taking this step, and you deserve a treatment program that will educate, heal and lift you up as you begin your journey to freedom from substance misuse.
