A substance use disorder is more than just physical dependence. As part of our programs, we offer counseling services with professionals trained in substance misuse in order to address the psychological and social factors that are present. Our team helps explore and confront these contributing factors, including:
In addition to addressing the factors contributing to clients’ substance misuse, our counselors help clients find emotional and psychological healing and help equip clients with self-management and self-care options to encourage lasting recovery. While clients are in our treatment center, our staff helps them acquire tools that will improve their long-term recovery chances, and counseling is a major factor in this process.
Group therapy is one of the most effective, research-backed treatment methods for substance use disorders. In our program, we use group therapy to help peers grow together, challenging and supporting one another through the process of understanding their substance abuse disorder and making a lasting change in their lives. Our counselors facilitate sharing and discussion to help our residents open up in order to begin the healing process, and peers work together to address the core of issues surrounding substance misuse.
