12 STEP RECOVERY FOR SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT
At ARAD, our programs include a variety of proven methods to offer long-lasting relief from substance use disorders and help our clients make their recovery real. As a treatment method, our residents may choose one of the long-standing 12-step recovery programs, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Our clients may begin attending these meetings on their first day in our inpatient treatment program, and then rely on a 12-step program to build a foundation to stay healthy and avoid substance misuse after leaving our program. These types of programs can help people abstain from alcohol and drugs for the rest of their lives.
Why 12-Step Programs?
We offer 12-step programs as part of our treatment philosophy for a few reasons:
- AA and NA both offer free meetings across the world, giving our alumni an option for staying clean and sober long after they’ve completed our treatment
- Both programs tap into members’ spiritual lives, offering an integrated ongoing treatment option that addresses mental, social and spiritual needs
- The accountability offered by 12-step programs has helped countless people abstain from alcohol and drugs
